Why It's Important To Replace Missing Teeth

Unfortnately, many people have missing teeth. A missing tooth or teeth can cause a myriad of problems as we age. Our teeth are held in place by the surrounding and opposing teeth. When a tooth is extracted, the remaining teeth shift to try to "close the space". This shifting of the other teeth will lead to loss of more teeth, Tempero-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (or TMJ) periodontal (or gum) problems, bone loss and pain.

Dr. Todd J. Sheffler tries whenever possible to save all teeth. When a tooth cannot be saved, or when a tooth has previously been extracted, he will recommend replacement of the missing tooth or teeth.

There are several ways to replace a missing tooth. A staff member will be able to help you to decide which way is best for you.
